Position Summary:
Responsible for the development, implementation, administration, and ongoing development of Lean Daily Management System (LEM). Prioritizes and supports the advancement of the hospital's strategic and operational agenda. Provides expertise to cross-functional teams to facilitate total quality methods, training, tool development, and logistical support. Coordinates with administration, leadership, and other functional areas to implement programs.

Job Requirement

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in healthcare, statistics, or related healthcare field and three (3) to five (5) years of work experience in a Lean/Six Sigma role within healthcare.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt.

Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WHO DOCUMENT THE FOLLOWING:

1. Previous Lean experience within an acute care hospital environment.
2. Previous experience teaching/certifying individuals for Lean Six Sigma yellow or green belts.
3. Previous experience leading Rapid Improvement Cycle Events across a healthcare organization.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements

Knowledge of:
Business process modeling/improvement; cross-functional integration; Lean Methodology; performance analysis; project management; training program development; performance metrics; quality standard development; Kaizen Methodology; Six Sigma Methodology; quality management systems; MS Project; strategic planning, finance, or operations; computer applications related to duties; project management and analytical techniques.; principles and techniques of preparation of effective written informational and educational materials; department and hospital safety practices and procedures; patient rights; infection control policies and practices; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
Skill in:
Ability to train project teams in principles of Lean/Six Sigma; set project timeliness and lay out play of actions; communicate results and issues through all levels of the organization; manage work with limited direction; strong analytical, communication, and process management; use of computer software/applications related to duties; maintaining accurate records and files; preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials; contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities; communicating effectively with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
