If you're looking for an interesting and rewarding volunteer experience... SAVE is looking for new volunteers!
S AVE is a civilian volunteer organization of the Reno Police Department (RPD), providing additional resources to the Department. SAVE volunteers relieve police officers of certain duties, as outlined below, and provide an increased level of crime prevention through patrol and observation. All SAVE volunteers are 50 years of age or older and volunteer a minimum of 16 hours per month to the Department. For more information email us at SAVE@reno.gov .

Minimum Qualifications
Pass a criminal background check
50 years of age or older
Proven ability to communicate effectively with citizens and law enforcement in a non confrontational manner
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
Possession of a valid Nevada identification or driver's license
Considered to be in good health, with sufficient mobility to perform assigned duties(exceptions are made for persons with disabilities)
Willingness to provide sixteen hours per month of volunteer service each year
Ability to find own transportation to and from SAVE office
