MANAGER COMMUNICATIONS AND GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Communications and Government Affairs Manager position. This position will be primarily responsible for:
- Overseeing the development of effective messaging and communication strategies, both internal and external, across various forms of media (press releases, digital campaigns, print, social media, and audio and video).
- Management of a communications team, including but not limited to, the development of team member roles and responsibilities, direction on projects and daily tasks, career and skills development, and team culture.
- Government affairs work, to include, developing relationships with government officials, advising the District General Manager on government affairs issues, and developing a program intended to foster and maintain relationships and communication channels with government officials.
- Media relations, including but not limited to, developing relationships and communication channels with media outlets and crafting responses to media inquiries and press releases.
- Development of an employee engagement and recognition program.
- Legislative tracking and reporting during Nevada's biennial legislative session.

This position is an exempt management position and excluded from membership in the union.
This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or other field related to the work.
- Five (5) years full-time experience in communications, public relations and/or marketing.
- Two (2) years of full-time lead, supervisory or management level experience.
- Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Possess a valid Nevada Class [C] driver's license at time of appointment.
Background Investigation:
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation.
Pre-Employment Drug Testing:
- Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
