but may be used for other ambulatory locations when needs arise.**
Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, applies the nursing process to deliver basic, safe, therapeutic care and administering medications for individuals or groups of patients. May provide patient care in a specialty area but not limited to: medical/surgical, labor and delivery, PEDS, and the emergency room. May work with high-risk patients.

Job Requirement

Education/Experience:
Equivalent to graduation from high school and one (1) year of clinical experience as a LPN.

Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Current License by the Nevada State Board of Nursing to Practice as a Practical Nurse, Basic Life Support (BLS), and IV certification.

Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements

• Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Minimum one (1) year of recent Adult Primary/Quick Care Experience;
  2. Prior relevant clinical Experience as an LPN in an acute care hospital or similar setting.
  3. Prior experience with EPIC
  4. Bilingual preferred
  5. Prior experience with assisting patients setup appointments and procedures, and providing efficient follow-up
  6. Must be comfortable with navigating computer platforms and familiar with smartphone functionality.
  7. Prior Telehealth experience is a plus!

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements

Knowledge of:
Basic life support; nursing process (implementation and coordination of patient care); patient standards of care; disease process; medical terminology; human anatomy; basics of pharmacology and medication administration; Proper techniques for dressing wounds, removing sutures and staples, etc; Aseptic techniques; Nurse practice act; department and hospital safety practices and procedures; patient rights; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures; age specific patient care practices.

Skill in:
Proper medication administration (except epidural and intravenous route); delivery of patient care; performing basic life support; maintaining sterile technique; using equipment associated with specialty area and the nursing process; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds under stressful conditions; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting and use standard equipment, including stamina to remain standing and/or walk for extended periods of time, and strength to examine and treat varied patients, vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
